The emu egg shell is a very dark green on the outside. It has several layers under that in different shades of teal and aqua. The little Irish man in the top left is standing inside of an emu egg.

The egg represents new life and the giving of decorated eggs as gifts, has been around almost since the beginning of time.

Right now, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Joyce and I live in Central Florida.
I have lived here most of my life.

I first discovered egg art around 1973. I happened upon a lady having a yard sale. She was also sitting there decorating eggs. It was love at first sight. I just had to try my hand at creating some of these beautiful egg shells. I found a couple of books at a craft store and my journey into egg art began. Needless to say, it was a long time before my creations could be considered beauties.

Because of life, family, working etc. I was not able to pursue my art except off and on. More off than on. I have come to a point in my life that I am able to devote more time now enjoying my love of creating egg art.

I have to thank the World Wide Internet for helping me in my journey to becoming more creative. The net put me in contact with some wonderfully generous people around the world. These people are willing to share their expertise and knowledge and therefore I have learned a lot from them. I still have a lot to learn. The art of decorating and sculpting eggs in a never ending, learning process.
